Santa Lucia Children's Dance
At least two tales converge to tell this story. Sankta Lucia or St. Lucy in Scandinavia recalls a little girl who's sweet and kind actions brought Light into the hearts of her village people. The Festival of Light or the Festivat of Sankta Lucia is celebrated in Sweden and Norway, with little girls in white bringing Light into the darkness of night and winter with their wreaths of candles, as the song of Santa Lucia is sung.

From Sicily comes another legend of Santa Lucia, who brought food to prisoners,
and brightened their dreary days,
whose father blinded her when she refused to marry his choice of husband,
but who was miraculously healed by the Light on Dec. 13th.
